Tales from the garden…….. The young Eller girls were blessed with a mother and father who persisted in teaching traditional values, spiritual faith, and methods of work. Gardening was one such endeavor. It taught not only how to grow your own food, but patience, persistence, faith, thankfulness, and how to work for a useful purpose. Daughter Chuckie surpassed the parents in growing lovely, nutritious gardens, and has taken to specializing in onions, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Daughter Barb likes to experiment with new ways, but relies heavily on expertise learned as a little girl. plant the garden, Betty, ever the quick thinking use-what-you’ve-got innovator, learned that if all seeds were planted in one hole, the chore of planting was quickly done. It’s not known what happened to the beans that year! |
