The newest arrival on the farm is Gracie, a transplanted suburbanite, who arrived this February. She is pictured to the far right in the photo. Gracie finds all the farm animals, especially the pigs, fascinating. She has learned to walk, not run, the cattle to their paddock and to stay away from the dog-terrorizing horse, Krystal. The barn cats keep their distance and Gracie, with much encouragement, no longer chases them. She arrived overweight and has already lost an inch from her waistline, despite Perk’s generosity with the treats and table scraps. No doubt, the multiple trips with Barb to the compost piles and hay sheds have helped this suburban malady. Her no nonsense demeanor with Benson, the Dalmatian watchdog-with-an-attitude, has helped improve his disposition somewhat. Visitors to the farm are now subject to approval from both dogs who call this place home. |
