The annual ritual of spring planting of pine and spruce started 60 years ago with the white pine in the farm’s front yard. Spring 2006 found us again planting pine and spruce. The south windbreak trees planted in 1972 have many offspring to transplant. Grandma Perk (Fran), now 90 years old, ensures the trees are planted right.
