Breaking and exciting news!  After a year-long feasibility study with many of the Onamia and Isle Farmers’ Markets and other community members helping, we are opening the ‘Farm Market Café, LLC’ in Onamia. We’ll be a moderately priced local foods café offering a simple, but delicious home-cooked menu for take-out or dine-in. We’re organized as a MN Limited Liability Company and as we get our legal ducks in a row, we will be able to take on more members of the company with a share in equity and the opportunity to be as active or passive in your investment as you wish. The café is just the 1st phase of business development. It’ll be followed by an all season farmers’ and artists’ market. The 3rd phase will formalize current wholesales of fresh local produce to area health systems and schools. We have much work to do, need help and cash as al

ways, but in the long-term we are positioned between the developing local food systems in Brainerd and Long Branch and will be part of this emerging regional food system. In the short-term, we’ll deliver a great product, the opportunity for community ownership, and new jobs for community residents.  Our unique corner of the market includes the ability to source and add value to locally grown/raised fruits, vegetables, and meats. We represent the familiar and grounded security of the ability to eat well “in season” and store sufficient in-season produce for use during the winter. Fresh roasted organic free-trade coffee beans provide the “great coffee” edge. In addition, customers will also be able to meet the local farmers who produce the food we serve or sell and provide a place for local artists to gather, showcase their creations, and meet with customers in a friendly atmosphere that celebrates local heritage. If you’all would like and are in a position to invest in this venture, give me a call. Community outreach meetings will also be planned for later this spring in Onamia, Isle, and Milaca.  Celebrate good, hard work and great food!

Farm Market Café, LLC opens June 21st!
